Customers are preparing healthier meals more frequently

According to a McKinsey study, during the pandemic, many consumers increased their focus on health and well-being, and opted to boost their immunity through exercise and healthy eating.

A NutriU user survey in 2021 reinforced this perspective. Philips found that the combined use of the Philips Airfryer and NutriU App helped 86 percent of respondents prepare healthier meals more frequently during the pandemic.

NutriU data has also found that healthier recipes such as air fried sweet potato chips received more views. Other recipes that received more views also include those had healthier ingredient substitutes, such as sweet potato brownies and chocolate avocado muffins. In Singapore, some popular and healthy recipes included salmon fillet, chicken breast, and roasted broccoli.

Experiments with cuisines

NutriU data also showed that consumers were searching for recipes on the app and experimenting with cuisines from other countries, to use with their air fryer.

Singaporeans had diverse food preferences, with Asian fare such as roasted Asian chicken wings and crispy fried spring rolls, and Western cuisine such as chicken nuggets and French toasted ham and cheese sandwiches being popular recipes.

Singaporeans also indulged in chocolate-flavoured desserts, with chocolate lava cake, fluffy muffins, brownies and soft chocolate cakes being the most viewed dessert recipes.
