The Balvenie Connoisseurs of Craft Workshops

By  |  0 Comments

Fancy picking up some craftsmanship skills? Starting 12 September, The Balvenie will be presenting a series of hands-on public public workshops, as well as a craft market to showcase the fine works of local artisans.

The Balvenie prides itself as being ‘the most handcrafted single malt Scotch whisky’, which explains their strong association with the local craft scene. Coined The Balvenie Connoisseurs of Craft, the initiative looks to promote craftsmanship in Southeast Asia by establishing a conducive ecosystem for creation, apprenticeship, and the advocacy of crafts on various platforms. This series of workshops is organised and conducted by The General Company.

Join The Balvenie Craftsmen Collective, a group of six local craftsmen, as they take you through an interactive hands-on craft clinic. Each of the six workshops focuses on the various disciplines of each craftsman, and participants can pick up new skills such as carpentry, printmaking, leather crafting, metal work and shoemaking. Later this year, The Balvenie Craftsmen Collective, together with a handful of Singapore’s most talented craftsmen, will display their finest in a craft market showcasing their creations for sale.
