On 18 November, 250 active agers from the first batch of People’s Association (PA) Senior Academy (SA)  graduated with a Certificate in Senior Wellness Programme.

The active agers were accompanied by their families and friends who packed the multi-purpose hall at Gek Poh Ville CC to witness their graduation. Since the launch of PA’s SA in February this year, over 4,000 seniors have signed up for various SA courses.

At the event, Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Health and the Environment & Water Resources and Adviser to Hong Kah North Grassroots Organisations, said, “Each one of you is a shining example of positive ageing. Indeed, chronological age does not matter as long as we are healthy, happy and continue to grow and develop as individuals. As the pioneer batch of Senior Academy graduates, you are the ambassadors to inspire other seniors to pursue their lifelong learning aspirations, and lead an enriched and healthy lifestyle.”

Looking ahead, active agers can participate in more interesting and exciting courses, such as ‘LEARN. BOND. COOK.’ by Celebrity Chefs Sam Leong, Siti Mastura or Eric Neo, ‘From Garden to Kitchen’ by PA Trainer Uncle Tony (who is also this year’s PA STARS Award – Platinum Award recipient) , ‘DIY Bodycare the Natural Way’ by PA Trainer Jon Tay, and many more.
