Cordon Bleu Extra: a New Taste for an Old Favourite

By  |  0 Comments

Martell’s Cordon Bleu is a classic we all know for as long as we can remember. With the Martell Cordon Bleu Extra, the House of Martell pays tribute to its classic with a twist to that all familiar cognac we all love.

Created in 1912 by Edouard Martell, the Cordon Bleu debuted in Monaco and went on to make its way around the world as an iconic ambassador for French elegance and Art de Vivre. For us, Cordon Bleu is perhaps the most identifiable among all of Martell’s expressions – it was the perfect gift for a special friend and the perfect drink for celebrations.

Martell attributes the highly popular smoothness of Cordon Bleu to its use of rare eaux-de-vie from the small Borderies cru, which makes up a mere 5% of Cognac vineyards. Cordon Bleu Extra boasts a generous portion of very old Borderies spirits, known for its intense candied fruit aromas, that has been added to create a taste that is smooth and sensual, intense and harmonious. The bottle has also been elegantly elongated and features a wooden cap with a metal medallion engraved with the Martell seal.
