M1’s launches new value-added Data Passport service

M1 Data Passport

With M1’s new Data Passport service, customers can get-away and use their existing data bundles in six overseas destinations – Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and the United States, at a monthly subscription of SGD 10 per country.

M1 has also launched the new ‘Network Lock’ feature to protect customers from unintended usage and charges when roaming overseas. Customers can have peace of mind while travelling as the free feature ensures that data usage will always be on an M1 preferred network.

Apart from the six Data Passport destinations, the Network Lock feature is also available in 10 other destinations that offer unlimited roaming for SGD 15 a day. These destinations include Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Macau, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. The feature can be enabled or disabled by dialling *123# when on the M1 network.

A one-time activation fee of SGD 2 applies, with an additional SGD 5 for multi-SIM users. Customers who exceed their data bundles will have to pay local excess data usage rates of SGD 10.70 per GB, capped at SGD 188.32 per month.
