Glenfiddich’s Rare Whiskies, Now a Mouse Click Away

By  |  0 Comments

Glenfiddich may be known to many whisky drinkers as the one that started their journey, but now with the Glenfiddich Gallery, you’ll have an opportunity to experience a rare, unseen side of the Valley of the Deer.

The Glenfiddich Gallery is an online portal that made its UK debut in 2014, and for the first time, whisky fans are able to directly purchase Glenfiddich’s rare and unreleased single malts personally selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. Chosen for their unique nature, they’re a different beast compared to regular Glenfiddich expressions.

Now, the Glenfiddich Gallery service is available in Singapore. Here, you’ll find a diverse range of whiskies, matured traditionally in ex-sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrels, or finished in Bordeaux and rum casks. At launch, 33 casks were on display, with prices ranging from S$950 to S$220,000 for a 1958 vintage. “Here, people can access some of our finest private collection whiskies, giving them the opportunity to customise their dream dram,” said Matthew Fergusson-Stewart, Regional Brand Ambassador for Glenfiddich.

You can also customise the bottle’s packaging and labels: choose from four primary colours and twelve accent colours and personalise the text on the bottle label as well as the engraving on the copper plaque. They make truly unique collectibles and gifts to whisky-loving friends.

But what makes the Glenfiddich Gallery great lies in its simplicity. If you’re unsure of what you (or your friends) like, you can always use the Taste Profiler to narrow down your options – it also recommends whiskies that fit the bill (although not necessarily the monetary one).

You can check out the Glenfiddich Gallery here.

Glenfiddich Gallery Pop-up

Physically experience the Glenfiddich Gallery at a special pop-up at The Refinery from 13th – 31st December. Informal sessions on selected dates will be hosted by representatives from William Grant & Sons (WGS). You’ll experience special scent stimulations, discover a taste profile you enjoy, and find a whisky in the Glenfiddich Gallery to match, and sample it (subject to availability). You’ll also be able to take home a personalised Glenfiddich Gallery postcard.

Admission is free, and you’re free to walk in, but the pop-up space is limited to 10 guests at any one time. To avoid disappointment, you should RSVP for the public sessions here. If you feel that you don’t need the guided tour (and whisky), you’re free to explore the gallery on your own from 19 – 31 December 2015, 11:00am to 11:30pm (within The Refinery’s opening hours).
