National Eye Care Day by SNEC

The National Eye Care Day is an annual community event initiated by Singapore National Eye Centre to promote eye health among Singaporeans of all ages.

The theme for 2020 is ‘Eye Care during the Covid-19 pandemic’.

There will be free eye care webinars for the public to learn first-hand from eye doctors from SNEC on the common eye conditions affecting our population. The webinars will be conducted in English and Mandarin. This is also the first time the eye care talks are held virtually online in order to extend the opportunity to everyone for a chance to join in and learn more about the importance of eye care.

The webinars are jointly organised by Singapore National Eye Centre and the eye departments of government restructured hospitals.


Date: 28 November, 2020 (Saturday)

English Programme: 9.30am – 12pm
Mandarin Programme: 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Topics include:

  • Childhood Myopia – The impact of COVID-19 and Tips for Maintenance of Eye Health by Dr Loh Kai-Lyn, Consultant, Myopia Centre
  • Working From Home – Impact on Our Vision and What We Can Do About It by Dr Daniel Chua, Consultant, Refractive Surgery Department
  • Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) – Causes, Symptoms and Treatments by Dr Shaun Sim, Associate Consultant, Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department
