Samsung Fine-tunes the Washing Machine and Refrigerator

By  |  0 Comments

It’s actually refreshing to see simple but effective tweaks to age-old appliances, and that’s what Samsung has done with its new line of refrigerators and new washing machine.

While no stranger to criticism for adding features for features’ sake, the new appliances won’t set your world on fire too (literally and figuratively of course). Instead, it has some thoughtful solutions for those little annoyances you wish manufacturers should fix.

The new series of refrigerators have what they call Twin Cooling Plus tech, which unlike typical refrigerators, separate the evaporators within the refrigerator so that smells from one compartment will stay within that compartment. A simple tweak, but one that many will appreciate.

Other benefits include the ability to maintain humidity levels up to 70 percent so that your food stays fresh, and being able to convert the freezer into a fridge if you need the extra space for say, parties. Models in the lineup sport up to five modes, such as Freezer-Fridge, Energy Saving (Not on all models), Vacation, Fridge Max, and Mini modes. From S$1,399.

This Wi-Fi connected washing machine is able to provide you information on the progress of your laundry, and more importantly, inform you of the moment before the start of a new wash cycle so you can add delicate or hand-washed items.

Wait, it’s front loaded, so how does that work? It’s all thanks to a simple but effective AddWash door, which opens up for you without spilling water so you can add laundry or additional softeners. From S$1,399.
