KAYAK.sg reveals peak festive season tips and trends to help travellers save on flights
According to travel search engine KAYAK.sg, travellers start planning and searching for festive season flights from March with a slight dip as we get distracted by the summer holidays during the middle of the year.
Based on the top 15 Christmas destinations Singaporeans search during the year, airfares can cost 15 percent more on average.
However, this increases up to 50 percent closer to the end of the year. Auckland sees a rise in airfares of 50 percent, followed by Manila (49%), Taipei (37%) and Sydney (33%).
Travellers looking for cheaper airfare destinations can consider Paris, New York and Seoul for their year-end holidays. On average, flights to these destinations see a decrease during the year-end period, with Paris clocking in 18 percent lower than the average price throughout the year.
Remember to pack in good, warm clothing when heading to these cities!
