Whisky bars are becoming more popular these days and we really can be spoilt for choice when it comes to places we can go to enjoy a tipple. The Wall is one of the newest on the block, and it’ll surprise you on so many levels.

No, it’s not a cheeky way of suggesting that they have multiple floors of space. There are no more than two floors here, and nor is it a big bar. However, what The Wall has, is a bit of everything, which makes it suitable for whisky drinkers from all walks of life, regardless of experience.

Taking its name from the century-old, Tanjong Pagar shophouse walls, The Wall is also notable for its large collection of whiskies lining the walls, ranging from the affordable to the unobtainable. The Wall is not just a place for the people who appreciate the value of rare whiskies. The establishment also prides itself in offering quality sumiyaki as well as excellent whisky-themed cocktails, all under one roof.


The Wall has about 130 bottles of whisky available by the glass, starting from $14. The 45ml serving is one of the more generous pours you can get from a bar. Whisky flights start from $37 with 20ml half pours, and you can top up $12 for four sumiyaki skewers. The Wall also offers omakase ($96) as well as a pairing option ($168). If you find whisky too overpowering as a drink, then you can try out their range of excellent whisky cocktails – conceived by bar manager and veteran mixologist Jeremie Tan – which are more likely to go down well with most.


With your drinks and bites sorted, you can also choose to seat at the bar for an engaging whisky conversation or opt for a more private setting at the lounge on the second floor. A VIP room is also available (minimum spend $800) for your special gatherings. The Wall isn’t short of options, and there’s almost something for everyone.
