Combat Vaginal Laxity With Viveve Treatment

Women who have experienced childbirth or menopause may suffer from Vaginal Laxity, which affects their sexual health and satisfaction. Find out how the Viveve treatment can help combat this problem.

NeoAsia, a leading distributor for aesthetics and skincare technology, has recently announced the launch of Viveve, a non-surgical treatment that helps improve vaginal laxity (looseness) and boost sexual health.

Singapore is the third country in Asia, after Japan and Hong Kong, to have launched Viveve. The treatment offers a novel approach to tighten vaginal tissues and is currently available at The Sloane Clinic and Cutis Medical Laser Clinics in Singapore.

The Viveve treatment is especially suitable for women who are sexually active and who have had vaginal childbirth. During vaginal childbirth, the tissues can be overstretched and cause trauma to the pelvic floor ligaments. This leads to consequent laxity of the affected tissues.

As a result of vaginal laxity, other physical and psychological concerns such as loss of sensation during intercourse and sexual dissatisfaction may come about. Women are usually too embarrassed or lack adequate knowledge to discuss this with their doctors. This concern is often left unspoken or invalidated. According to a Viveve survey, almost half of the women stated vaginal laxity as a concern after childbirth, but only 20 percent discussed the condition with their doctors.

According to Chief Executive Officer of Viveve, Patricia Scheller, the Viveve treatment has already been used by thousands of patients worldwide. They hope to empower more women with intimate concerns to pursue sexual satisfaction and improve their relationships. With the treatment now available in Singapore, Scheller believes that more women can have access to the procedure and improve their overall sexual health and quality of life.

Viveve Treatment

Treatment tip

The Viveve System utilises patented radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate the body’s natural collagen-rebuilding process. A medical practitioner will insert a treatment tip, about the size of a thumb, into the vaginal opening and move around the circumferential area. The Viveve system will deliver pulses of RF energy to the collagen fibres within the underlying tissues, simultaneously cooling the vaginal surface. This process will stimulate the formation of new collagen fibres, resulting in feelings of vaginal tightness and consequent improvement in sexual satisfaction. The Viveve procedure requires no anaesthesia and takes only about 30 minutes to complete.

The Results

Clinical studies on Viveve have shown significant improvement in vaginal tightness after a 30-minute treatment. At 12 months, sustained tightness was shown in 88 percent of the women and improvement in sexual satisfaction was indicated in the follow-ups.

The collagen restoration process usually takes place between 30 to 90 days after treatment, with little or no downtime. Patients should be able to experience an improvement in vaginal laxity and sexual satisfaction about 30 days after the treatment.

This treatment is suitable for women from ages 18 to 55 years old with or without having at least one vaginal delivery. The treatment is suitable for pre-menopausal women as well.
