Do You Hear the People Sing?

Les Miserables makes its return to Singapore, with the musical to open at the Esplanade in May 2016.

The hit musical “Les Miserables” will come to Singapore next year for the first time in 20 years. “Les Mis” as the show is fondly known by its fans, will run for nine weeks starting in May at the Esplanade Theatre.

Based on the Victor Hugo classic novel, this 19th-century tale set in revolutionary France is about the “survival of the human spirit” and features songs such as “Do You Hear the People Sing?”,  “I Dreamed a Dream”, “On My Own” and “Stars”.

Playing the iconic role of ex-convict Jean Valjean is established actor, Simon Gleeson while Valjean’s lifelong policeman antagonist Javert will be played by Earl Carpenter. Joining them will be musical theatre stars, Patrice Tipoki as Fantine, Kerrie Anne Greenland as Eponine, Chris Durling as Enjolras and Emily Langridge as Cosette.

Tickets with prices ranging from SGD 58 to SGD 228 will go on sale starting November 2, 2015.
