DS Skin Clinic launches All-Day Hand Sanitizer
The DS Skin Clinic All-Day Hand Sanitizer is a fast-acting and long-lasting hand santizer that is gentle on the skin and effective against the SARS-COV-2 virus.
DS Skin Clinic (Dermatology & Surgery Skin Clinic) is a private dermatology practice in Singapore. Based on patient feedback, they have created a hand sanitizer that is effective, long-lasting and gentle on the skin.
The company believes that their new sanitizer can meet the needs of consumers that are starting to emerge from the Circuit Breaker in Singapore and into the various recovery phases. This period will see consumers using the various mass transit options, return to the office, and generally visit more places during their day. Consumers will therefore be exposed to more surfaces that might have been contaminated by the SARS-COV-2 virus. Such surfaces can include lift buttons, railings, door handles, tables and even cash and documents that are passed from person to person. Given the lack of hand-washing facilities to immediately disinfect their hands, the use of hand sanitizers represents a balance of convenience and safety.
According to DS Skin Clinic, “…alcohol-based sanitizers, if concentrated enough, is fast-acting and effective in killing germs, but can be
dehydrating on the skin. The alcohol-free sanitizers, although more gentle on the skin, tend to be less effective and slow-acting, and are more suitable for object surfaces.”
The DS Skin Clinic All-Day Hand Sanitizer contains 75% ethyl alcohol and 0.1% benzalkonium chloride, and is therefore highly effective and fast-acting in killing 99.99% of most household germs and viruses.
The sanitizer also remains effective for 24 hours after the initial application. The sanitizer works by creating a “…skin-friendly, waterproofing polymer film [that forms] over the skin upon evaporation of the alcohol. This prevents the active ingredients from being washed away, thus providing a long-lasting protection against germs”. Due to this function, consumers do not need to constantly re-apply the sanitizer after initial application.
A good sanitizer must be effective in killing germs, as well as be gentle on the skin. That’s why we emphasised from day one of its development that the hand sanitizer must protect the skin from dehydration, skin irritation and prolonged usage.

The sanitizer has an emollient oil added to help keep the skin hydrated. Frequent and prolonged application of the hand sanitizer will not cause any skin irritation or damage.
