By  |  0 Comments

FairPrice Walks With U is back for a second year on 30 August this year!

The theme this year is “Walk Around the World” and aims to promote family bonding and healthy living by encouraging families to participate together.

This year’s new route will see participants flagged-off at the Promontory against the iconic Marina Bay backdrop. The 5km walk will take the participants past the Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and ends back at the Promontory. There will be Samba dancers from Brazil, cosplayers from Japan and cheerleaders from the US cheering and entertaining the participants as they go through the route.

Through the carnival-like atmosphere and experience, the organisers hope to provide a fun time where participants get to see the sights and sounds of performers, giving everyone a great experience at the walk.

Last year’s inaugural event saw over 5,000 participants take part and SGD 1 Million raised and donated to help low-income families. This year, NTUC FairPrice will pledge $100 per registration to the FairPrice Food Voucher Scheme via its Foundation.

The scheme distributes FairPrice food vouchers to grassroots organisation from all 87constituencies and to selected welfare organisations to benefit low-income families and individuals.

This year, participants and their families can help raise more money for the scheme by adding the hashtag #fairpricewalk and a line about why walking with one’s family is fun or a great experience to their Instagram, Twitter or Facebook post. FairPrice will pledge an additional SGD 10 in FairPrice vouchers to the Food Voucher Scheme.

Interested participants can register for the walk at this website. Registration rates for NTUC Members is $10 per individual and $15 for the public. Early bird signups will enjoy a $3 discount for the public.
