Are you in need of a mood booster? Get a dash of good cheer by learning how to eat right to improve your health, fitness and self-esteem all at the same time.

Did you know that your happiness is greatly affected by what you eat? If you don’t start making things right when it comes to your diet, you might end up feeling anxious and depressed most of the time.

It is important to eat foods that have positive psychological effects in our body, eventually training yourself to feel happy throughout the day.

Preparation

Obviously, you need to go the extra mile if you want to have a happy and healthy diet. You need to plan your menu days ahead to know what meals you will be cooking for the week.

If you think you’re too busy to do this, you might end up eating unhealthy meals every single night since you don’t have much choice but to order what’s available (or worse, what’s left).

Avoid this by making time to buy your groceries and stocking up your pantry with healthy foods that are good for the body. Buying organic produce is better (but not necessary); and make sure to consume these food items as soon as possible to prevent them rotting away (and wasting money).

Plan what you want to eat during the week. You can cook some dishes ahead of time and freeze them. This makes it easy for you to heat up and serve. This is especially convenient when you have had a long day or just too tired to cook a fresh meal. Having a planned menu will keep you from ordering take outs and consume home-cooked food. This is truly a delicious suggestion!

What to Eat

Fiber

Eating foods rich in fiber can reduce fatigue, helping you feel relaxed and calm. If you think you need to boost your mood for the better, try eating lots of fiber and see the results for yourself.

You can find fiber in:

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • High Fiber Cereal
  • Corn
  • Black and White Beans
  • Avocado
  • Whole Wheat Bread & Pasta
  • Brown Rice

Breakfast

Never skip breakfast as this is the most important meal of the day. What you eat in the morning can help keep you energised during the day.

If you eat a fatty breakfast meal, expect yourself to feel sluggish right after. You may even feel a bit drowsy. Strive to eat a healthy meal early in the morning to help with positivity and productivity through your day.

Skipping breakfast can result in cravings for high fat snacks. These will eventually tire you out. Keep yourself off from binge eating and start your day with a healthy breakfast today!

 Water

Don’t let yourself feel tired and groggy. Always keep your body hydrated by drinking a lot of water daily. Instead of ordering colas and sugary drinks, it’s best to stick with water to cleanse your body regularly.

It can help to bring a tumbler with you everywhere to keep you from buying unhealthy drinks while you’re out. If you’re in the office, make sure you have a bottle of water within your reach to keep you alert at work.

Don’t forget that you need to drink at least 2 liters of water every day to keep you properly hydrated.

Good Carbohydrate Snacks

To concentrate and focus more, try eating good carbohydrate snacks like dried fruits, low fat snack bars and bread sticks.

It’s okay to consume carbs as long as you know when to stop. You will need the carbohydrates to fuel your body since it needs more energy to keep you focused and alert.

Having a happiness boost is indeed possible by changing your eating choices. Make wise decisions for your body to reach your full potential and live happily with every bite.
