PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road welcomes the Lunar New Year with new signature creations and all-time favourite delicacies

PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road is going all out to celebrate the arrival of  Chinese New Year. The hotel will be bringing back its popular buffet at Spice Brasserie as well as serving a brand new Yu Sheng dish at Si Chuan Dou Hua.

Spice Brasserie

The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Spice Brasserie will be featuring a Fivefold Fortunes Set (五福临门), created by Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat, that is all about spreading good fortune, with each dish symbolising a blessing for the New Year.

Patrons can look to “Toss in Abundance” with the Crispy Baby Crab Yu Sheng, a delightful crunchy twist on a bed of fresh salmon slices, drizzled with Passion Fruit and Plum Sauce. For Prosperity, they can enjoy the Prosperity Pot (盆菜), featuring juicy abalone, mushrooms, sea cucumbers and scallops. Well-wishes for Longevity lies in the Lobster in Superior Stock, while “Family Unity” is celebrated with a hearty Abalone Glutinous Rice with Liver Sausage, reminiscent of traditional home-cooked meals. Finally, the meal is rounded off with the delightfully smooth Pumpkin Purée with Almond Flakes, signifying sweet beginnings.

The Spice Brasserie buffet will feature Asian delights, a sushi and sashimi corner as well as several ‘live’ stations cooking up a medley of Asian and Continental creations.

The buffet is available for lunch and dinner at SGD 48 and SGD 68 respectively. Lunch bookings will enjoy a complimentary Crispy Baby Crab Yu Sheng per table, while dinner bookings are a complete feast with the Fivefold Fortunes Set thrown in. The Reunion Dinner on 7 February will be charged at SGD 78.

Si Chuan Dou Hua

Si Chuan Dou Hua Executive Cantonese Chef Leung Wing Chung will be providing a creative take on traditional dishes this year to celebrate the restaurant’s 20th anniversary.

Si Chuan Dou Hua is launching a wholesome and vegetarian ‘fish-free’ Premium Truffle Yu Sheng (黑松露养生鱼生), comprising 20 different ingredients that looks to provide nourishment for the body.

This Yu Sheng dish will feature a generous portion of fresh black truffle slices, matsutake mushrooms and wholesome greens, tossed with soya bean crisps, crispy rice grains, truffle oil and homemade truffle mushroom sauce.

Prices for the Yu Sheng dish start from SGD 98 for 4 to 6 persons. A white truffle version is available by ordering two days in advance.

Si Chuan Dou Hua’s classic favourites are also available, including Roast Suckling Pig (黑金蒜层饼片皮乳猪) served with fragrant Black Garlic Pancakes and a refreshing Black Garlic and Pineapple Dip at SGD 238. These are available for both dine-ins and takeaways.

For a truly indulgent reunion, Si Chuan Dou Hua offers a wide range of Auspicious Lunar New Year Menus featuring delicacies like Braised Abalone, Roasted ‘Pi Pa’ Duck and its signature Roast Suckling Pig.

Prices start from SGD 72 per person (minimum 4 persons) and SGD 788 for a table of 10 persons. Si Chuan Dou Hua’s Lunar New Year menus are available until 22 February 2016.
