There’s a new beer in town, and it combines both the thirst quenching abilities of an ale with the richness of oak aged whisky.

The festive season is upon us and many a pint and bottle of beer will be drunk this December. Yet, not all is well in the Kingdom of ale, as a challenger to the palate has been making its rounds at the bars and pubs. This challenger goes by the name of whisky.

For those of us who enjoy our drink, many an evening has gone by wishing that we could enjoy the tastes of both a good malt and a rich ale.

Enter Tennent’s Whisky Oak, a 6% ale that is infused with notes of a Speyside single malt whisky and toasted oak. Tasting notes include rich smoke, fruity aromas and vanilla. Fermentation takes a minimum of three weeks and involves warm maturation and aging of the beer in a ‘single malt whisky-infused oak chips’.

Tennent’s Whisky Oak is available in Singapore from November 2014 and can be found at all craft beer stores such as The Good Beer Company.
