World COPD Day 2016: Save Your Breath, Increase Your Awareness

Changi General Hospital’s respiratory and critical care medicine department shares an infographic to highlight facts about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in conjunction with World COPD Day 2016.

COPD is used to describe lung conditions with shortness of breath being a key symptom. This can be caused by non-reversible conditions such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema and chronic asthma. COPD typically occurs in people that smoke or are ex-smokers. Consistent exposure to air-borne irritants such as dust, fumes are also contributory to developing COPD.
