By  |  0 Comments

To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) will roll out several initiatives and activities for all to participate in.

As Breast Cancer Awareness month draws nearer, the BCF invites all to participate in a series of activities to show their support for the cause.

Pink Ribbon Walk 2016

Kicking off on 1 October is the annual Pink Ribbon Walk, which will be held at Event Square @ Waterfront Promenade. The carnival will commence at 2pm, while the 4-kilometre fun walk is set to flag off at 5pm.

Members of the public are encouraged to register early to enjoy Early Bird rates going at SGD 35, and Regular rates going at SGD 40. Participants aged 60 years and above may enjoy early bird rates at SGD 25, and Regular rates at SGD 30.

Every participation in the walk is a significant support towards raising awareness and funds for BCF’s support group programmes. To register for the Pink Ribbon Walk 2016, visit here.

Wear The Pink Ribbon Campaign

Throughout the months of September and October, members of the public will be able to purchase pink ribbons at partner organisations including Club 21 stores, Takashimaya and Jean Yip. Besides raising funds, BCF hopes the act of wearing the pink ribbon pins will help generate greater awareness of breast cancer and spread the message of early detection and breast screening.

Pink Ribbon 4

This year, the pink ribbon pins will come in two designs:

  1. A regular plain design that donors may get for a minimum donation of SGD 2 each
  2. A crystal encrusted pin for a minimum donation of SGD 5

Members of the public who are spotted wearing the pink ribbon pin will also stand to win attractive prizes in BCF’s Pin It To Win It Lucky Draw.
