GrabCar has recently launched the #GrabitBeatit campaign to promote breast health awareness and educate women on the importance of self-examination and early detection to beat breast cancer.

The app-based car with driver service (powered by the GrabTaxi mobile app) is also selling limited edition t-shirts to raise funds in support of Singapore Cancer Society’s (SCS) activities. Designed by fashion brand Pestle and Mortar, the t-shirts come with a cheeky tagline “Love boobs? So does cancer” and are going at S$15 each. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to SCS to support breast cancer awareness.

From now to 31 October between 11am to 4pm, all customers can purchase #GrabitBeatit t-shirts via the GrabTaxi app by selecting the #GrabitFleetit fleet icon and enjoy free delivery. Each t-shirt will come in a special Pink Kit which contains an instruction card for self-examination and button badges. Be sure to look out for the six pink GrabCars roaming around town as well.

To buy a t-shirt, simply follow the instructions below:

  • Download the GrabTaxi app for free via Google Play, App Store or Blackberry World and register for GrabPay, a cashless payment option within the app.
  • Select the #GrabitBeatit fleet icon, key in the promo code “GrabitBeatit” and enter the pick-up location as “GrabTaxi SG” and drop-off location as your delivery address.
  • Under additional notes, indicate shirt size and tap on the “Book Now” button.

For the month of October, other #GrabitBeatit activities include:

  • Discounted GrabCar rides to selected breast cancer examination centres – Women can enjoy a discount of SGD 8 on their rides by using the promo code #GRABPINK when booking a GrabCar to the list of breast screening clinics found here.
  • Selfie contest – Customers can take a photo in their #GrabitBeatit t-shirts to show their support for the cause and encourage friends and families to do preventive self-examinations. Every week, two people with the most creative photos will get to win attractive prizes.
  • Tips on how to conduct self-examination – These will be shared on GrabTaxi’s Facebook page.

SCS will also be providing free mammogram screening at SCS Bishan Multi-Service Centre to women with Health Assist cardholders, aged 50 and above. Enjoy a funding of SGD 25 for your mammogram screening at breast screening centres island-wide.

Swipe to support and raise funds for breast cancer with Paktor app

Southeast Asia’s leading dating app, Paktor, just made supporting a cause as easy as “swiping” eye-candies on the app. “Paktor Takes A Swipe At Breast Cancer” is the world’s first campaign that relies on the in-app swiping mechanic to raise money for a charitable cause. This is Paktor’s first corporate social responsibility initiative with the project aiming to raise USD 10,000 to help promote breast cancer awareness across the region.

The campaign will go live on the app from 15 to 21 October and will educate women through a special profile card. For every user who swipes right on the card, Paktor will donate USD 0.10 to a local breast cancer support charity in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) has been appointed the beneficiary for Singapore.
