SIFA 2016: Tropical Traumas

By  |  0 Comments

Catch Tropical Traumas: A Series of Cinematographic Choreographies, a multimedia hybrid-cinema performance told through fantastical imagery and ethereal music.

Part of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) 2016, Tropical Traumas: A Series of Cinematographic Choreographies follows a group of performers who re-enact the wild and exotic expeditions into the steamy Malay Archipelago, based on tales told by Sir Stamford Raffles’ wife Sophia Hull and the great British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace.

The re-imagined narrative of movies, travel journals, youtube videos and daydreams will all come together to form a playful blend of cinema and theatre that explores multiple realities. The vivid images are set against a haunting musical score, resulting in a performance that will leave the audience entranced.

Set in The Meadow @ Gardens by the Bay, catch Tropical Traumas from 2 to 5 September, 9pm.

Admission is free. For more information, visit here.
