Hosted by the Council for Third Age (C3A), Singapore’s largest expo for active agers is back, this time bigger and better than ever. To be held from 15 to 17 May 2015, the 50plus EXPO aims to promote active ageing by providing a series of forum talks*, hands-on workshops, product offerings and more.

One of the highlights at the 50plus EXPO is the Public Education (PE) Zone. The PE Zone is further segmented into four different thematic zones that consists of:

• Live
– The Live zone encourages the visitors to enjoy each and every milestone they have achieved in life. There’s also a stage area that will feature performances as well as sharing sessions on active ageing by celebrities such as veteran actress Koh Chieng Mun.

• Inspire
– The message that Inspire hopes that active agers can take home is to be engaged, dynamic and inspiring. At this zone, visitors can explore being a volunteer to continue contributing to society, learn to create video blogs and use the various social media platforms.

• Fulfil
– Continued learning allows active agers to feel empowered by keeping their minds and bodies engaged. This zone will feature an array of interesting activities that include Chinese calligraphy, playing the ukulele, crepe making and demonstrations on incorporating super foods into one’s daily diet for a nutritious meal.

• Enjoy – At this zone, active agers can try their hands at activities such as vertical gardening. They can also learning simple and beautiful food art that they can easily create at home. There’s also resistance band training and basic grooming workshops for visitors to participate in.
